Boy, I was completely blown away by how powerful this one was. It's 2000 watts and gets the job done. I didn't even have the temperature all the way to 2000 watts but I could feel the heat radiating off the grill plates. I had thick pork chops and within minutes it left nice grill marks on the meat. I finished the chops in the oven for a couple of minutes to cook the middle, and the result was super juicy and tasty. I was so pleased. The grill itself is heavy but it's well-built. I like the safety latches to keep the lid down, and the removable plates are a dream to clean. My tip for cleaning is to use oven mitts and remove the plates while they're hot and soak them right away to make it easier to remove any gunk.
